Today’s Yin Oracle card begins:
Healing happens drop by drop.
This is not just poetic, but a principle of healing known as titration.
Titration is a method used in chemistry to combine two potentially explosive substances. When one is added to the other drop by drop, combustion is avoided.
What a metaphor!
But also a truth—of the chemistry of our wounds, our healing, our emotions and our energy.
When we slow way down, and can be present with just a drop at a time, integration can occur rather than overwhelm. We can stay grounded and empowered in the encounter with our deepest wounding.
This isn’t always easy to trust. In the face of our pain, we can believe that we need to take it all on, all in one go. Understandably: We are desperate to be free.
But the magic lies in each drop.
You have to experience it to believe it.
I was introduced to this principle through my Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy training. It came to my teachers through Peter Levine (Somatic Experiencing).
And I’ve come to know it through my own journey of healing as well as how I witness and guide others.
The settling that occurs when that one drop resolves; the space that becomes liberated—is far beyond just the drop. It means that we don’t have to plunge into the deep end of the pool and risk drowning in the trauma—all over again.
And what about that last part of the card?
Angels disguised as abusers.
It can be said that our deepest wounds are there to draw our attention to the place where our deepest gifts lie. We must be called to that place, again and again, to be willing to pass through that initiation of trauma, to emerge with our shining gifts: resilient, wise, leavened with lived-experience.
And the fortitude and commitment it takes to return to that site of pain over and over, and continue to alchemize it with ever-growing refinement and subtlety, is what makes us into the trustworthy bearer of our gifts.
How can this be so?
Only you can say.
A guided practice for you with the Healing Yin Oracle card.
Wound-into-Gift; Shadow-into-Shining
I don’t believe we can resolve drop by drop in isolation.
The vastness of the pool is so all-consuming, having a guide who can slow everything down, and hold the spaciousness to be with just the drop—not to mention identifying the drop itself—I believe is what is required for the alchemy of wound-into-gift, shadow-into-shining.
This is why I have created a 12-month journey for women over 50—a spacious, long-and-deep form for taking all the time that is needed to go drop by drop.
This is an invitation not for those who are at the beginning of their journey of healing, but who have already done a lot of work on themselves, who feel they are ready to bloom into the most powerful years of their life.
When you are ready to step into mastery.
This is a crucial time for a dependable guide, and the community of a circle of women.
This journey, Ready to Bloom, offers both.
And the final early bird day to join is tomorrow.
So: you can see all the details of the journey right here.
⏰ And with such a short time remaining for the early bird (it’s TOMORROW! 31st May!), I’ve opened up my calendar through the weekend so you can meet with me for a complimentary 30-minute conversation and see if this journey is right for you, right now. Just book in here.
